Sustainable Flatbush presents Streetfilms

As a preview to Bike Month NYC and its dazzling array of bicycle-oriented events, Sustainable Flatbush presents Streetfilms: a selection of short films celebrating alternative transportation (that means all forms OTHER than the automobile) and pedestrian-oriented public spaces. Through interviews with Enrique Peñalosa (former mayor of Bogota, Colombia), Jan Gehl (urban planner from Copenhagen, Denmark), and citizens of Portland, Oregon, we will learn how those cities have improved their quality of life by planning for people instead of for cars. Streetfilms creator and Livable Streets activist Clarence Eckerson will join us to discuss his work.
