Sustainable Flatbush presents StreetfilmsApr 27 2007 - 8:00pm Etc/GMT-4 Location: Vox Pop Cafeborough: Brooklyn Description: As a preview to Bike Month NYC and its dazzling array of bicycle-oriented events, Sustainable Flatbush presents Streetfilms: a selection of short films celebrating alternative transportation (that means all forms OTHER than the automobile) and pedestrian-oriented public spaces. Through interviews with Enrique PeƱalosa (former mayor of Bogota, Colombia), Jan Gehl (urban planner from Copenhagen, Denmark), and citizens of Portland, Oregon, we will learn how those cities have improved their quality of life by planning for people instead of for cars. Streetfilms creator and Livable Streets activist Clarence Eckerson will join us to discuss his work.
