The NYC Department of Transportation and Transportation Alternatives will present awards to NYC’s most bicycle friendly businesses for 2008.

Providing employees with a white headlight and red taillight; a bell or other audible signal (not whistle)
Ensuring that employees’ bikes are equipped with working brakes; reflective tires and/or other reflective devices
Keeping a log book which must be available for inspection during regular and usual business hours
Providing health insurance to working cyclists and care if cyclists are injured during the course of the working day
