Bike Tour in the RockawaysLocation: Boardwalk at Beach 116th Street borough: Queens Description: Queens Museum of Art Director Tom Finkelpearl will conduct a bicycle tour of Robert Moses' impact on the Rockaway peninsula -- from housing, to the beach, to bridges and transportation. Helmets are required. Bring your own bike. The tour will take around two hours and will cover approximately 12 miles of riding, or 17 miles if you wish to ride back with Tom to the starting point. NYC DOT's 4th Annual Bike to Shea DayLocation: Two ride meeting locations: Manhattan - 47th St and 1st Ave (Dag Hammarskjold Plaza); Brooklyn - Brooklyn Museum on Eastern Pkwy & Washington Ave (at the fountain). Rides assemble: 10:30am, rides leave: 11:00am. Both rides finish at Shea Stadium.borough: Brooklyn Manhattan Queens Description: Leave the traffic behind and bike to Shea! Join us for a 9-mile ride to see the Mets vs. the Milwaukee Brewers. Marshals from the Department of Transportation will escort you to the game via on street bicycle lanes and off street greenways at a leisurely pace. Riders of all skill levels are welcome. Riders who wish to take their own route and starting location are also encouraged to join in the spirit of the day and meet us at the game.
